Il riciclaggio creativo che ho in mente ha lo scopo di riconsiderare gli organi meccanici.
L’importanza e l’efficacia lasciano spazio all’aspetto e la forma per far ricoprire loro un ruolo puramente estetico. Un lavoro certosino da far dimenticare la provenienza. Cominciai col considerare tutto ciò che mi circondava, elettrodomestici pentole, sedie ( in fondo a ogni oggetto si può dare una nuova collocazione ), ma non bastava. Dissi “lo fanno tutti, anche a scuola”. Dovevo sperimentare … Organismi meccanici che tutti noi inconsciamente utilizziamo, ma di cui ignoriamo l’esistenza. La moltitudine di forme prodotte per esigenze industriali ha generato cloni di esseri esistenti in natura. Non mi accontento di unire semplicemente. La balena dovrà essere una balena a tutti gli effetti. In un secondo momento ci si dovrà accorgere che si tratta di una marmitta. Il camaleonte dovrà sembrare morbido, i denti degli ingranaggi diventeranno pelle, le saldature flessibili. Le candele aculei, se unite a magliaia saranno pelo e con il pelo farò… Beh, ci penso.
The creative recycling that I have in mind wants to reviw mechanical parts. Importance and efficiency give way to appearance and shape giving them a purely decorative role. The work is so painstaking that I forget where thei originally came from. I began by considering ewerything aroundme, electrical appliances, saucepans, chairs ( in fact each single item could be given a different role ) but is was not enough. I said “ they are all doing the same thing even at school” . I had to experiment … mechanical parts that we all unknowingly use without even being aware they exist. The moltitude of different shapers that are produced for industrial requirements has created clones of living things. I am not satisfied with just joning them together, a whale had to be a whale and nothing else, only later on could one realise it was an exhaust pipe. A chameleon had to seem soft, and the gear teeth become its skin, the welding becomes flexible. Sparkplungs become quills and if I join thousands of them together, they become fur and the fur will become, who knows… I will see.
